Following on from last year’s critically acclaimed ‘Sink’ EP, Australian brothers Ciaran and Michael Corcoran, aka Mikron, return to The Hacker & Gesaffelstein’s ZONE Records with the ‘No Correlation’ EP.

5 tracks of abyssal techno and dystopian electro these young producers (just 19 & 21 respectively) have crafted a sound that takes its cues from the machine funk of Detroit, the brutal Electronic Body Music of bands like D.A.F. and the caustic rave of producers like Aphex Twin, and would sit easily in your record collection alongside the likes of Drexciya and Dopplereffekt.

A master class in icy precision of ‘No Correlation’ is packed full of stripped back electro rhythms, roars of industrial noise, writhing acid bass lines and the kind of malevolent arpeggios that would soundtrack Kraftwerk’s dummies’ nightmares.

Shrouded in menace and dread, Mikron are soundtracking the Altamont to EDM’s Woodstock, the flipside to the rave dream of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect where 50,000 android Hell’s Angels dance in lock step to the cold logic of the sequencer.
