Jake earned his BM from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and then studied at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where he earned his MM and DMA and worked as Peter Erskine’s teaching assistant for five years.

In addition to extensive studio work for artists, TV, and film, Jake has also performed/recorded with many artists, including Katy Perry (“All You Need is Love” single), Logic (aka Peanuts), Kait Dunton, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Seth MacFarlane, and many more.

If that weren’t enough, Jake is the author of the drum set instructional book "Jazz Drumset Etudes, Vol 1,” and is endorsed by Gretsch drums, Zildjian cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, and Remo drumheads.
