Yazdan’s treatment of her was bitter and rough, devoid of respect, sometimes even accompanied by contempt and violence; and every time the cold wind blew from the cave entrance, Masoumeh's heart trembled with the fear and sorrow that owned that space.

One day, after a painful argument, Yazdan left the cave to rest for a while by the river flowing downstream from the mountain. The sound of the flowing water provided a brief, lullaby-like calm to his exhausted mind. But there, Masoumeh, fed up with her endless suffering, picked up a large stone with the intention of striking Yazdan on the head to gain freedom from this tyranny. As she approached him, Yazdan suddenly turned his gaze, and their eyes locked—a heavy, fear-filled moment. Yazdan dodged, and the massive stone crashed heavily onto the ground.

In the continuation of the story, Masoumeh tried to injure him and forcibly drag him towards a well that she had dug near the mountain, intending to bury Yazdan alive and take revenge. Right at that moment, Fatemeh, who had heard the sound of shouting and fighting, rushed to the scene. Worried, she placed herself between the two and managed to save Yazdan from the death trap. Moments after Yazdan regained consciousness, rage and hatred filled his entire being. He immediately tied Masoumeh's hands, without looking at her tearful eyes, and didn't even give her a bite of food.
