Major 7 Gypsy Jazz Arpeggio Lick ???????? #shorts #robinnolan #gypsyjazzguitar

Here’s a charming Gypsy Jazz arpeggio lick that sounds great over a Major chord.

The lick is based on a Major 7 arpeggio which is a useful one to learn and have at the ready for your soloing.

You can think of the arpeggio like this:

1 3 5 of the major chord, except we are going to precede the 1 with the Major 7 making it

7 1 3 5 7 1 3 5 etc

In C major that is B C E G B C E G - watch the video for a full demonstration!

This is a classic sound for Gypsy Jazz and you’ll hear players like Tchavolo Schmitt use this arpeggio all the time!
