Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side from 1972 became a worldwide hit. The chord progression alternates between D and G6 throughout the song except for just before the hookline "Hey babe! Take a walk on the wild side.", where there is an Em and a different rhythm. If you want to play along with the original Lou Reed record you have to tune your guitar down by 2 half steps to D G C F A D. Lou Reed's live performance are in standard tuning, and you can see him play the chords D and G6. Enjoy!
