Dans ce projet, réalisé dans l’une des dépendances d'une ferme du 17e siècle dans la basse campagne de Vérone, une alcôve rustique a été temporairement transformée en petite chapelle dédiée aux Autres qu'Humains. L'exposition faisait partie d'une résidence internationale accueillant 35 artistes travaillant sur un large éventail de supports.

Depuis des siècles, les champs de la basse campagne de Vérone sont le centre de la production italienne de tabac. Le site de la résidence appartient à cette riche histoire et la ferme de tabac demeure en activité. Au cours de la résidence, des feuilles de tabac résiduelles ont été collectées dans les séchoirs et sur le terrain et placées sur le sol de la chapelle. Ces feuilles, à la riche odeur de fumée, servent d'offrande aux Autres qu’Humains et ont été placées pour honorer le site.

Corinna Wollf est artiste professionnelle, piétonne, nomade artistique et créatrice d’espaces qui a vécu une vie de déplacements depuis ses terres ancestrales. Née à Edmonton, déménageant souvent pendant son enfance et résidant dans le centre-ville de Saskatoon pendant ses années de formation et la majeure partie de sa vie d’adulte, Wollf a déménagé en Italie après avoir terminé sa maîtrise en beaux-arts à l’Université de la Saskatchewan en 2016. Récipiendaire de la Bourse de maîtrise Joseph-Armand Bombardier (Canada), les travaux de maîtrise de Wollf se sont concentrés sur l’esthétique des Métis dans l’art contemporain et son exposition de thèse du MAE, Water Over the Bridge, combinait le dessin grand format, la gravure, l’installation et le perlage. En 2019, Wollf a exposé son travail dans la province de Vérone, en Italie et dans des villes à travers le Canada, dont Toronto, Halifax, Saskatoon, Vancouver et Penticton. À travers sa pratique artistique, Wollf explore l’identité, la culture et le lieu à l’aide de perles, de matériaux naturels et de mots.

In this project, a rustic niche in an outbuilding of a 17th century farmhouse in the low country of the Italian province of Verona was temporarily transformed into a little chapel dedicated to the other than human. The exhibition was part of an international residency hosting 35 artists working across a wide-range of mediums.

For centuries, the fields of the Verona low country have been the seat of Italian tobacco production. The residency site is part of this rich history and remains an operating tobacco farm. During the course of the residency, remnant tobacco leaves were collected from the dryers and grounds and placed on the floor of the chapel. The leaves, with their rich smoky odour, serve as an offering to the other than human and were placed to honour the site.

Corinna Wollf is a professional artist, pedestrian, art wanderer, and space maker who has lived a life of displacement from her ancestral lands. Born in Edmonton, moving often during her childhood, and residing in the Saskatoon inner city during her formative years and most of her adult life, Wollf relocated to Italy after completing her MFA at the University of Saskatchewan in 2016. Recipient of a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Masters Scholarship, Wollf’s graduate work focused on Métis aesthetics in contemporary art and her MFA thesis exhibit, Water Over the Bridge, combined large format drawing, printmaking, installation and beading. In 2019, Wollf exhibited her work in the province of Verona, Italy and in cities across Canada including Toronto, Halifax, Saskatoon, Vancouver, and Penticton. Through her artistic practise, Wollf explores identity, culture and place using beads, natural materials and words.
