Barbados ranking high on the Human Development Index (HDI) came out of a struggle and is not by accident.

That's according to Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan.

He says it's as a result of Government, workers' organisations and employers seeing the benefits of protecting workers.

He was speaking during an address at the opening of a Workplace Wellness Workshop in the Henry Fraser Theatre at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies today.
