Hello and welcome back to my slow living vlog. As August arrives, join me at home in my kitchen and garden. This week I'm baking some raspberry crumble bars with raspberries that came from a friend's plot at the community gardens, and I'm making Turkish pizzas - pide - for dinner. I spend some time down at our woodland plot at the community gardens cutting a bunch of flowers to take home, and I bring you along with me as I begin work on a new quilt.
If you're new to my channel, hi! My name is Stéphanie, I'm in my late 30s and I live in England. This is my slow living vlog. It's a silly phrase to describe a calm and quiet way of life in touch with the passing seasons. You might know slow living from all things cottagecore, mindfulness, or the Tiktok crowd who like to romanticise their lives, but I assure you that slow living is for everyone, even those of us who live ordinary lives in big cities.
It's just about choosing how we spend our spare time, and building little habits and routines into our everyday lives that help us to slow down and notice the world around us. The reality of life is that we all have things we need to do and places we have to be, but there's always time for a quiet cup of tea, reading a few chapters of a book before bed, or going for a short walk around the block with your phone on silent. I hope my videos give you ideas for ways you could create little pockets of calm in your own life.
I love sharing stories from my kitchen and garden, as well as the vegetable patch my husband and I tend down at the local community gardens. I really enjoy cooking and baking and share my weekly recipes and makes with you in my vlogs, together with the craft projects I work on throughout the year. I love making things, whether that's in the kitchen, in the garden, or crafting on my living room floor, and I love connecting with other people who are passionate about similar things to me. If that's you, I'd love for you to stick around. Take a look through my archives to get a feel for my channel, say hi in the comments, and make yourself at home.
Crumble recipe:
100g margarine or butter
200g oats
1 tbsp grape molasses OR 25g sugar
Combine the ingredients in a bowl and then divide the mix in two so that you can sandwich some berries between two layers. Bake for approximately 25 minutes at 180C (350F) or until the crumble is brown on top.
If you would like to adjust the sugar levels to make this crumble topping sweeter, you can of course do just that! Make it your own, we all have our own preferences when it comes to how sweet we like our baked goods. The raspberries have a natural sweetness to them, but if you're using something like blackberries then you might like to include a little bit more sugar.
Feta cheese recipe:

I skipped the oregano, garlic, and onion powder and didn't include chillies because I wanted my feta to be quite plain. Otherwise I followed the recipe.
