In a grand event at Buckingham Palace, King Charles unveiled his first official portrait since his coronation last year. This exquisite oil on canvas was created by the renowned artist Jonathan Yeo. The portrait, which shows King Charles in the uniform of the Welsh Guards against a vivid red background, also features a delicate butterfly hovering just above his shoulder.

Jonathan Yeo, a celebrated artist known for his portraits of iconic figures such as David Attenborough, Nicole Kidman, and Tony Blair, explained that the butterfly symbolizes the evolution of King Charles' role in public life. The portrait was commissioned in 2020 to honor King Charles' 50 years of service as a member of the Drapers' Company.

This magnificent piece will be displayed at Drapers’ Hall in the City of London from the end of August, offering the public a chance to admire this significant work of art.
