Washington-based artist Anthony Howe has mesmerised viewers for nearly a decade with towering kinetic sculptures that twist and turn with hypnotic motion. Weighing hundreds of kilos, the hefty artworks are activated either by wind or electricity and resemble otherworldly organisms, four-legged creatures, and large coiling mechanisms.
KADUPUL, 2018 is one of Howe's interior, hanging, electrically powered kinetic sculptures. Comprising forty-two "wings" the artwork, which is situated in Istanbul is 5.5m h x 5.5m w and weighs 227 kgs.
