Killer Vocal Recording Technique Using A Decca Tree Microphone Setup

I’d started doing some research on old hit songs to try and uncover some golden recording techniques. In the process I came across this idea. I’m currently in the middle of a project writing, recording and producing a Chrismas song. This is the technique that I’m using to records all the vocals. It has a great upfront sound without hours of editing or having to add a truck load of plugins to make it pop. The track has no compression or EQ added at this stage. It was compressed lightly by a Joe Meek SC2.2 and TL Audio C1 for the rear pair as it went in.
