KC & The Sunshine Band (KC & The Sunshine Band Junkanoo), popular and outstanding band formed during the year 1973 in Miami. Florida, United States. Fronted by Harry Wayne Casey (KC) (lead vocals, piano, keyboards, composing and production), with near-permanent collaborations with Richard Finch (composing, arranging, engineering and production), often accompanied by Jeffery Leads (lead guitar), Jerome Smith (guitar), Robert Johnson (drums), Steve Lashley (bass), David Siegel (keyboards), Felipe LaMoglia (saxophone) and John Reid (trumpet) and with the sporadic assistance of María De Crescenzo and Anika Ellis (backing vocals), Fermín Goytosolo (percussion), David Simmons (drums), Johnathan Whittaker (keyboards), Cisco Dimas (trumpet), Miles Fielder (trombone) and Kennetha Morris (dancer). With a period without production between 1986 and 1992 and the departure of its founder, remains successfully in force today.
