Touted as the entertainment boss from Clarendon, Jamaica, Bobby Kush will open the doors to his new recording studio located at Pouderoyen, on the West Coast of Demerara on Thursday. The studio, which will be managed by Bobby Kush Entertainment, promises a new era for Guyanese artistes who have struggled for years with just a few recording studios. Kush says he brings to Guyana a wealth of knowledge and experience and he hopes to put Guyanese artistes on the world stage, not only for the fame but also to make a living off of music. Although led by a Jamaican, the business employs several Guyanese, including Kush’s co-manager, Collis Belgrave. They both spoke to the News Room about what the business means for the community of Pouderoyen, Guyana and the wider Caribbean region.
