In this follow-up video, I take the Mapex Meridian Maple drum kit I bought for just £250 and attempt to triple my money by cleaning it, re-skinning it, recording it, and selling everything piece by piece.

You’ll see the full drum restoration process, including stripping and cleaning hardware, polishing hoops, fitting brand new Remo Emperor and snare-side heads, and dealing with a few costly mistakes along the way (including ordering the wrong snare size…). I also clean and prepare the cymbals for resale, including a stunning Zildjian A Custom 18” China and Meinl Byzance Dark hi-hats.

Once the kit is rebuilt, I record it and talk honestly about the challenges of drum recording, mic placement, and how a lack of a bass drum port affected the final sound. Finally, I break down every sale, every cost, and the final profit — showing exactly how this drum kit ended up making over £750 profit, successfully tripling my investment.
