Many people are afraid to ship amplifiers, but it’s really not that bad if you follow these steps to protect the amp and yourself in the event of damage.
1. Remove the back panel if needed to gain access to the tubes.
2. Pull and label all of the tubes. Wrap them separately with bubble wrap and place them in a small box.
3. Wrap the box in bubble wrap and place inside the amp making sure it fits snug and won’t move around. Add more bubble wrap if necessary.
4. Reinstall the back panel with box inside.
5. This step is important! Take the amp to FedEx and ask them to pack it with expanding packing foam. Ask that the amp be insured for full purchase price. If FedEx does the packing, they will stand behind their packing job and honor their insurance if you have an issue. This is not true if you do the packing!
