The Orton Effect is one of the most popular effects for landscape photography, and for good reason. This effect is easy to apply and makes your images glow, which can help accentuate beautiful light or improve the atmosphere in your photo, ultimately adding depth.

Many people stop after applying the blur; if you do, dial down the opacity. To further refine the glow, you'll want to use the Color Range tool to select the brightest spots in your image.
