Have You Tried Using Mineral Spirits with Soft Pastels - REAL TIME Painting Tutorial & Product Comparison
I recently experimented with a new product to blend soft pastels, and I loved the results! I used Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits and I will definitely do that again! And since I am often asked about the differences between using water or alcohol to blend and liquify pastels, I thought I'd do an experiment and comparison using this new product as well.
So enjoy this REAL TIME tutorial of a lovely field of lavender flowers and stay tuned to the end for the experimenting fun!
NOTE: There were even more noticeable differences in the results once there was more drying time. The Mineral Spirits had a noticeable difference in color intensity... and I love that!
