What if the Greeks hadn't invented democracy? This is a two-part documentary about animal species that make decisions collectively. The first episode explores the African continent. In many animal societies, the leader consults the members of his or her group before making a decision. This discovery calls into question our beliefs about the animal world, which perhaps aren't governed by the "law of the jungle" after all.
