London-based, self-taught artist Niall Shukla, is one of the pioneers in the cracked glass art movement. He creates portrait sculptures out of glass that highlight the uniqueness of human identity. Like a fingerprint, each glass sculpture is one of a kind and impossible to replicate.

This sculpture was made with over a thousand cracks in a single piece of glass. It took multiple attempts to get right. Each time I made a mistake, the sculpture had to be started again from the beginning with a new piece of glass. The whole sculpting process, including failed attempts took a month. - Niall Shukla
