In this video, I explore a question that's been on my mind: Is blending the horizon enough to classify a landscape photograph as "Fine Art"?
Earlier this week, Lee and I ventured to Spurn Point to put this idea to the test. Our goal was to capture fine art images of the stunning and picturesque groynes along the shoreline.
I deliberately chose this day for its crystal-clear skies, a deep blue canvas free of clouds. These conditions were ideal for the experiment, as the lack of sky interest meant no streaking clouds or dramatic details to rely on for added intrigue.
Some critics claim I label my work as "Fine Art" simply because I blend the horizon seamlessly into the sky. But that's far from the truth! This video dives deeper into the theory, challenging the idea that horizon blending alone can elevate a photo to fine art status.
