Join print artist Rachel Moore for this relaxing mixed media art tutorial, drawing and painting seed heads using ink, watercolour painting and simple mark-making.
???? In this session, Rachel guides you through a series of short exercises, inspired by the interesting shapes and patterns of seed heads. You’ll explore techniques such as negative space painting, continuous line drawing, ink and wash, and building up texture with layered marks. You’ll see just how many different ways there are to capture the same subject.
This art tutorial is a great way to experiment with different approaches and enjoy a mindful moment of creativity. Why not take your sketchbook outside and make the most of the late summer sunshine?
????️ *What you need to take part:*
• Sketching pencil (2B or 4B)
• Black drawing ink or black acrylic paint
• Watercolour paints – even a child’s set will do
• Medium-sized paint brush
• Wax crayon or candlestick
• Paper (any sturdy type—sketchbook, cartridge, card, watercolour paper, or even recycled packaging like brown paper)
Don’t worry if you don’t have fancy supplies – just use what you have!
