The 52nd Sports Contest of Artistes took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Tuesday.

There were various sports events, including basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tug-of-war and ssirum (Korean wrestling) during the contest, divided into the groups of cinematic art and stage art.

Among the spectators were Jo Kyong Jun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Sung Jong Gyu, minister of Culture, Jong Yong Nam, director-general of the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry, officials in the field of culture and arts, officials concerned, producers, artistes, teachers, researchers and students.

Players displayed the sporting skills acquired through their day-to-day training and the strong sense of organization, discipline and good sportsmanship.

The group of stage art took the first place in total points.
