Meet Dhiren Borthakur, a skilled pottery artist from Nagshankar, Kaliabor, who has dedicated over five decades to the craft of idol-making. A former trained electrician, Dhiren followed his passion for art, shaping clay into divine forms since 1974. As Saraswati Puja approaches, his idols continue to carry the essence of devotion and tradition. His remarkable contribution to the craft earned him the artist’s pension in 2024. Through his work, Dhiren has not only preserved an ancient art form but also inspired future generations to embrace their cultural heritage.
