In Southwest Denver's Westwood neighborhood, it's hard to experience a hot day without the temptation of a paleta, a type of Mexican ice cream that comes in a variety of flavors.

Locals will know paleteros, the street vendors who sell the delicious treats, by their distinct bells that share with the neighborhood they're nearby.

Local artist Julio "Juls" Mendoza is bringing attention to paleteros and their lives through an innovative art project that transforms their carts into canvases for storytelling.
