DeafBlind artist Tony Giordano’s “I Love You” sculpture was on display and turning heads at the Art Guild’s People Power exhibit, which opened this past weekend in Port Washington, NY.
Tony, who is deaf and lost his vision later in life, discovered this creative outlet and talent during his art therapy sessions at Helen Keller National Center. He attended the exhibit opening and enjoyed interacting with some of the other tactile artwork on display.
We are happy to see his inspiring work shown in the community. Congratulations, Tony!
Video Description: The video opens inside of the Art Guild main entrance door, followed by an approaching shot of the sculpture on display in the corner of the gallery’s main room. Next, Tony and an interpreter are communicating in front of his piece, followed by Tony interacting with another piece of tactile art on the wall, then interacting with Antonia, the Art Therapist from Helen Keller National Center, who also attended. The video closes with an approaching shot of Tony standing in front of his work, followed by a close up of the sculpture fading to the Helen Keller Services logo over a white background.
