Alright…I had to do it. Taking the lead from Mike Sheehan who did a great 8-bit parody of the Hans Zimmer Masterclass trailer (you can check it out at the link below), I decided to try my hand.

So here you go:

Danny Elfman Masterclass - 8-Bit & Chiptune (Spitfire Parody)

Here are some notes adapted from Mike’s notes:

“With the rise of chiptune music and 8-bit music in film these days, it's important for composers to keep up with the times and learn how to produce quality music if they want their music to get placed on film and TV. That's why we've created this new Masterclass, where composer Danny Elfman will show you his secrets of creating professional 8-bit and chiptune music.

(This is a parody inspired by Spitfire's new winner announcement of the Westworld Scoring Competition. No hate towards the winner David Kudell and his entry. Just having some fun with Spitfire's interesting choice of music)”

It goes without saying; we hold these incredible musicians in the highest regard and have the utmost respect for them. I’ve actually taken both the Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman Masterclasses and enjoyed diving in to some of their mentality and frameworks when creating music. (In fact, Hans Zimmer’s Masterclass was the main reason I signed up to the Masterclass platform several years ago).
