Cute owl made of polymer clay on a cup DIY.
A detailed tutorial for beginners and a good idea for those who already know how to sculpt from polymer clay. For this tutorial I used different colored Cernit baked clay. This is a very high quality polymer clay, it is known all over the world. You can use another manufacturer's baked polymer clay. Any ceramic cup or mug is suitable for the base, you can use a tea cup or a coffee mug. The main thing is that the walls of the cup are smooth.
Please note that in order to save your time, our video is accelerated in half. Modeling this cute owl will take you about an hour.
As for the color of the owl, there are no restrictions. We decided that the hat should be yellow, and so we did. You can use any other color. For bright accents, we use dry pastels. You can do without it, but the decor will then look a little easier.
Materials and tools:
- Polymer Clay (Baked). After sculpting, the decor must be baked, according to the instructions indicated on your polymer clay. We bake without removing together with the mug, then remove and glue on epoxy glue, as you see in this video: https://youtu.be/bFuT3GdFY88
In this video, Cernit clay was used, this clay is baked for 15-30 minutes at a temperature of 130 degrees Celsius (265ºF).
