IN THIS VIDEO:
I’m giving you a quick look at using my photography set-up for video. As a photographer, I’m all about making the most of what I have, and that’s exactly what I did with my Canon R5. You can use a budget shotgun mic, basic lighting, and a simple PC to produce content & without getting caught up in stream decks and all the stuff you see YouTubers flexing - just get started, start shooting, and planning video ideas with what you have, and then make mistakes, learn, and enjoy the journey.
It’s all about using what’s available to you and being innovative. Whether you're a fellow stills photographer, or just starting out in content creation, hopefully this video will inspire some of you to use what you’ve got and make it work. I also talk about my plans to add a DJI Pocket 3 in the future to complement my setup, which if you're completely new to both Photography and Video, so don't already have something to record on - that is probably your best option that you're least likely to regret - a complete 4K set-up for £600. It says something that I want one while rocking a £3k Camera body.
You don’t need top-tier equipment or perfect gear to start creating content, just innovation, resourcefulness, and creativity. So if you’re thinking of starting your own content creation journey, I hope this video will encourage you to give it a go and to experiment. Get started today, with me, as while I've played with video & YouTube before, I'm considering this my first proper step in to content creation, too.
