@kraftrendezvous Learn something new with this easy to follow tutorial for beginners on Lippan Art. Lipan art (sometimes spelled as “Lippan” and known in English as Mud and Mirror Work) is a traditional mural craft of Kutch, Gujarat, India.
All you need is fevicryl Mouldit Clay, or any other brand which you can easily buy in stationery shops. Since this tutorial is for beginners, you will also learn getting started and how to use mouldit clay. You will also need mirrors and acrylic colors, and a plate or MDF board as starting materials.
So that you can keep your first lippan artwork as unique memory, I will teach you a another artform - pichwai painting - The word Pichwai has its roots in the Sanskrit pich (behind) and wai (hanging). A traditional art form that emerged in the 17th Century at the Nathdwara temple in Rajasthan, Pichwais are intricate paintings dedicated to Shrinathji and are typically hung behind the idol of the deity in local shrines.
