Conté Crayon Rubbings + Metallic Resist on the Gel Plate–Tutorial Tidbits

This week, I’m diving into a fun new technique using Conté à Paris Carres Crayons on the gel plate! These soft sticks pack intense, vibrant color and are perfect for creating crisp, low-relief rubbings with a Gustav Klimt stencil and rice paper.

But that’s just the beginning—I’ll also show you how to layer the rubbing with a metallic gold resist using Golden Fluid Acrylics. The combo of texture, shimmer, and vibrant color is seriously beautiful.

And don’t worry about smudging—I’m sharing my quick and easy tip to seal your print and lock everything in place. Let’s make some magic on the gel plate!
