In this masterclass, professor Denis Severin is accompanied by cellist Etai Kimmel, who is playing the most famous of Dvorak's concertos. Professor Severin provides feedback on the student's performance and offers advice on aspects such as musicality, technique, and interpretation. They discuss the importance of clarity and improvisation in the music, as well as the need to be precise and expressive. Professor Severin emphasizes the need for the student to relax, be confident, and take their time while playing. Professor Severin also mentions different versions and interpretations of the concerto and the role of declamation in playing the cello. Professor Dennis Severin insists on the importance of phrasing alongside the piano and the building of a musical bridge in certain sections of the concerto.

What we learn:
- The need for improvisation and flexibility in performance,
- Phrasing, technique, and clarity are linked,
- What does a Dvorak concerto entail?
- Why should one train with piano accompaniment?
- While training, there is always time.
