After years of working with Micro Four Thirds cameras, I’ve come to truly appreciate their size, versatility, and image quality. But in 2025, I’m ready to expand my kit and bring something full-frame into the mix. That’s why I’ve decided the Canon R6 Mark II is the perfect companion to my current setup. It’s not about replacing my M43 gear — it’s about complementing it.

The R6 Mark II offers that full-frame look when I need it, particularly in low-light or shallow depth-of-field scenarios. It’s fast, has great autofocus, and Canon’s colour science is consistently reliable. It’s a camera built for both stills and video work, which is a must in today’s content-driven world. Having the flexibility to switch between formats depending on the project gives me the edge I’m looking for in a competitive creative industry.

One major reason this makes sense for me is that I already own a handful of Canon EF lenses. With a simple adapter, I can bring those lenses into the RF system without spending a fortune on new glass right away. It’s a logical, cost-effective upgrade path that lets me get the most out of gear I already trust.

Micro Four Thirds will always have its place in my workflow, especially for run-and-gun shooting and travel. But adding the R6 Mark II is like unlocking another layer of creative potential.
