Bradley Cooper's Makeup Artist Explains Use of Prosthetic Nose in 'Maestro'

Kazu Hiro, the makeup artist for Bradley Cooper's new Leonard Bernstein biopic 'Maestro,' said he is 'sorry' that the prosthetic nose worn by Cooper in the film has 'hurt some people's feelings,' but maintained that his goal was to capture the 'authentic' and 'iconic' look of the late conductor.

The first trailer for 'Maestro' generated controversy when it was released last month, with some on social media saying Cooper's use of the fake nose plays into harmful anti-semitic stereotypes. Bernstein's estate, however, has defended Cooper's decision.

The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival this weekend to rave reviews and a 7-minute standing ovation.
