One disturbing thing I see on forums and by some bluegrass creators recently…when new players ask where to start with bluegrass guitar, people seem to say a lot of the same things:

“Just learn by ear”
“You don’t need a tab!”
“Develop a good ear, then it’s easy.”

What they don tell you is that playing by ear can take years of practice. I also think when people say these things, they’re just too lazy to sit down and break it down for you.
