Artistes and Creatives who lost income as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic are to receive financial assistance.
Cabinet has approved a one-off payment of $5,000 for members of this group.
The Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts says the Grant is aimed at providing a measure of relief to those affected by cancelled exhibitions, classes, conferences, workshops and other cultural events between March and December this year.
Applicants must be citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, 18 years and over, and be involved in the Visual, Performing, Literary and/or Fine Arts and craft sectors.
They must also not be in receipt of any other COVID-19 Salary Relief Grant.
To further assist the sector, it was also agreed that the rental cost of the national performance spaces, including NAPA, Southern Academy for the Performing Arts, and Queen's Hall will be reduced by 50%.
