ఒకప్పుడు ఓ ఎంతో ఆదరణ వున్న పలు రకాల జానపద కళారూపాలు.. ప్రస్తుతం మసకబారుతున్నాయి. ఈ కళనే నమ్ముకొని జీవనం సాగిస్తున్న కళాకారుల పరిస్థితి దుర్భరమవుతోంది. ఎన్నో ఏళ్లుగా ఈ కళనే నమ్ముకొని బతుకులీడుస్తున్న కళాకారులు ఆదరణ కరువవుతోంది. బుర్రకథలు, నాటకాలు , హరికధ వంటి కథన ఎన్నో కథలను చెప్పే కళాకారులుకు విశాఖ కళాభారతి వేదిక అయ్యింది. ఇక్కడ సంవత్సరం అంతా ఎన్నో కళారూపాలు ప్రదర్శించబడతాయి. దీనిలో భాగంగానే హరికథలు ఉత్సవాలు జరుపుతున్నాము. ఈ వేడుకలో గత 25 ఏళ్లుగా హరికథలు చెబుతున్నటువంటి వేదవతి భాగవతా వాణి ప్రదర్శనలు చేస్తున్నారు. నాటికి నేటికి కొంతవరకు ఆదరణ కరువైందని అంటున్నారు.
