Artist Kanye West’s Twitter and Instagram accounts get locked over antisemitic posts

Artist and fashion designer Ye, better known as Kanye West, had his Instagram and Twitter accounts locked after he shared various posts that referenced antisemitic conspiracy theories over the weekend.

The posts followed earlier outrage after he wore a shirt with the slogan “White Lives Matter” to his own Yeezy Season 9 event at the Paris Fashion Week, drawing criticism from many of his fellow artists and others.

Rapper and entrepreneur Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy or Puff Daddy, criticised the shirts, prompting West to share their private messages on Instagram where he alluded to the idea that Combs was controlled by a Jewish cabal in the media industry, which is a common antisemitic conspiracy theory.

West revealed he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017 but shortly after said he went off medication to “feel himself again”, leaving many fans concerned about his erratic behaviour and mental health.
