After spending two decades of his life using LEGO bricks to express his artistic visions, artist Nathan Sawaya is hosting a showcase in London, England, displaying more than 100 of his unique plastic-brick-built works.

The ‘Art of the Brick’ exhibition not only includes reimagined LEGO versions of some of the world’s most recognizable paintings — including Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night" — but dozens of original concepts too.

"I hope when people come to this exhibition they get inspired," Sawaya said on Tuesday, on the eve of the exhibit’s opening.

Speaking about why he chose LEGO to express his creative bug, Sawaya said he grew up with LEGO and rediscovered it as an “art medium” later on in his life.
