Ancien église Saint Pierre à Thaon

Fr: L'ancienne église , dédiée à saint Pierre , est construite dans un vallon ombragé , isolée du village . Elle est un des plus beaux témoignages de l'architecture romane . Elle était sous le double patron age , du Chapitre de la Cathédrale de Bayeux et de l'Abbaye de Savigny ( Man che ) qui possédaient d'importants domaines à Thaon . À la fin du XVIIIe siècle on relève le sol de l'église et du cimetière afin de combattre l'humidité de cette zone devenue encore plus marécageuse . Classé Monument Historique en 1840 , le bâtiment est désaf fecté dès l'ouverture au culte de la nouvelle église .
