ÄKA - Free voices of forest est une aventure interculturelle dont les protagonistes sont d’une part, les pygmées Aka de l’Ensemble Ndima (habitants de la forêt équatoriale de la République du Congo), Sorel Eta (ethnologue Bantou, manageur et fondateur de Ndima) et d’autre part, trois français occitans nommés Leïla Martial, Eric Perez et Rémi Leclerc issus des musiques actuelles et improvisées.
Le spectacle est sorti en 2021 et parcourt le monde, le documentaire et le disque verront le jour en 2024.
Cette vidéo retrace la tournée au Congo de février 2022 au cours de laquelle le groupe a fait escale dans diverses localités autochtones et a terminé en éclat de joie à Kombola, village des akas de Ndima, là où tout a commencé. ÄKA - Free voices of forest is an intercultural adventure whose protagonists are, on the one hand, the Aka pygmies of the Ndima Ensemble, inhabitants of the equatorial forest of Congo-Brazzaville, Sorel Eta, Bantu ethnologist, manager and founder of Ndima , and, on the other hand, three French Occitans named Leïla Martial, Eric Perez and Rémi Leclerc.
It is an unprecedented meeting between the Ndima group, virtuoso of the ancestral vocal repertoire of the Pygmy Aka, and European artists with an abundant imagination, experienced in improvisation.
This multidimensional epic spans several years. It is the subject of the creation of a show, tours carried out in France and the Congo near the indigenous populations, a feature documentary film directed by Yvan Schreck.

An upcoming album, recorded live, will bring together recordings made during the spring 2022 tour in France.

Here, the voice is at the center of the exploration and becomes the instrument of all possibilities. It is a journey without words, at the heart of human nature. There is, in the meeting of these two worlds, the advent of a new community of sounds.
