Activist and graphic artist Fahmi Reza claims he was barred from leaving the country this morning after being informed at KLIA that he was blacklisted.

He was headed to Singapore for a two-day trip, but was denied clearance after being directed to the immigration office.

Despite presenting digital documents, Fahmi said he was told to print physical copies and later informed that Bukit Aman had not approved his departure.

He was eventually escorted out of the departure area without further explanation.

The New Straits Times has reached out to the police for comment.
