A Day In Nice France. How To Visit The Artistic Beachy Town in France?
In this vlog of my Backpacking Europe Series, I have reached Nice. I haven’t any pre-plan to visit this artistic Beachy town in France. While my plan was to leave Geneva, I came to know and add this stop to my Western Europe itinerary. Nice is a Jewel of the French Riviera and the most beautiful city in France. It was founded by the Greeks and is located on the Mediterranean coast. Moreover, it is one of the largest cities in France. So one can easily spend a long span of leisure here while relaxing on a stretch of its 7km long beach.

• How to Get to Nice?
Cote d’Azur airport is only 7km from the city center. So, Nice is a convenient destination to reach by Air. Many International carriers operate on this route. I also reach Nice from Geneva by air.

• How to Get to Nice City Center from Airport?
We can take a tram from Airport to the city center in 20 minutes. The one-way fare is 1.5€. We can take tickets from the Kiosk by cash or credit card.
Alternatively, you can get the Nice Airport Express Bus that stops outside both of the terminals. Bus #98 and 99 go to the city center and have slightly different routes.

• How to Get Around in Nice, France?
Old town Nice is quite walkable. However, it is a big city and many ways of transport are there to go for long distances. Buses, trams, and the metro are the main source of transportation here.

• Where to Stay in Nice?
Being an important tourist destination in France, it offers a varied range of lodging to tourists. There are many backpacker hostels in the old town of Nice. I stayed in the Villa Saint Exupery Beach Hostel in Place Massena Square. It was a good backpacker stay there.

• How to Visit the Artistic Beachy Town of France?
I have only one day for Nice. So, if you have the same issue with time then you have to start your visit as early as possible. While my stay in Nice I visited the following tourist places.

• Russian Orthodox Church
Nice is home to a Russian Orthodox Cathedral that looks like you are visiting Mosco or St Petersburg.

• Promenade des Anglais, also known as English Street
While walking along the Promenade Des Anglais is a pleasant experience. This promenade extends all the way from the airport to Nice’s old town.

• Castle Hill or Colline du Chateau
It is the place to get the best panorama view of Nice City. We get to the top of Castle Hil by a staircase right next to the Promenade. However, I opted to do so by climbing the 500 stairs.

• I Love Nice
Just after coming down from the castle hill, you can take your signature photo with the I Love Nice Signboard.

• Nice Old Town or Nice-Ville
No matter where you are heading in the Old Town you will find the beauty of art. Although there are a few interesting sights to see that are worth searching for a tourist. However, it is also very enjoyable to just walk around freely.

• Nice Cathedral is a beautiful pink color church right in the heart of old town Nice

• Promenade du Paillon
Promenade du Paillon is the largest green space in the city. It is all filled with charming gardens, sculptures, and fountains. These fountains spellbound the viewers with their colorful lights in the evenings.

• Place Massena Square
Close to the Promenade du Paillon, you’ll find the historic Place Masséna square, which is also a must-visit when Nice sightseeing.
