I found the same melodic structure in two passages by J.S. Bach: 1) m. 2 from Prelude 16 in G-minor, from Book 1 of The Well-Tempered Clavier, BWV 861 (1722); 2) m. 67 & 68 from the 1st mov't of the Italian Concerto, BWV 971 (1734). These parts also have the same right hand rhythm. Pretty neat, I thought!????

Looking (and listening) for essential notes within the overall texture like this, helps me feel that I have a grasp of the underlying musical structure, especially when combined with the left hand eighth notes which create warm, consonant 3rds and 6ths. This is helpful for creating shape and texture in the playing and it's always a good idea both to isolate and to sing these notes when practicing.????
