42nd Annual Governor’s Arts Awards

Wyoming PBS is proud to stream the 42nd Annual Governor’s Arts Awards live from Little America Hotel and Resort in Cheyenne on Feb. 28. Since 1982, these awards have honored individuals and organizations dedicated to enriching Wyoming’s arts scene. This year’s honorees are:

→ Mike Kopriva, a talented painter from Powell, known for his striking western landscapes and still lifes.

→ Jane Lavino, Sugden Chief Curator of Education at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, recognized for her impact on arts education.

→ T. Allen Lawson, a celebrated landscape artist from Sheridan whose work beautifully captures Wyoming’s natural beauty.

→ Sue and Albert Sommers, advocates for the arts from Pinedale; Sue is a painter and printmaker, while Albert served in the Wyoming Legislature from 2012–2024.

→ Willie LeClair (Posthumous), an Eastern Shoshone spiritual leader and storyteller from Riverton whose contributions to Native American culture will never be forgotten.
