The full list of nominees for the 2022 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has just been released. Dip, Wally
B. Seck, Viviane Chidid, Jeeba and Sidy Diop will represent Senegal at the Grand Awards Gala, scheduled to take place from November 3 to 6 in Nigeria.
No single Gambian made it to this year's AFRIMA!

T-Smallz-Suso, Jizzle and A2 The Only 3 Gambian Artiste That Has Ever Made It To The Most Recognised And Biggest Music Award in Africa
The reason we bring this to the attention of the public is to make Gambian artiste to put more effort in producing songs that can cross boarders to other African countries, which is the only way we can get nominated and get recognised within the continent's music space.
Recently we were communicated by the editors of
WHO IS WHO? to include some musicians in a historical book which focus on the biological information of the most prominent and successful Gambians and we gave them list of the contemporary musicians and their achievements, guess what?
Apart from Sona Jobateh and Jaliba they selected only three musicians, this was based on their nomination to the AFRIMA Award.
AFRIMA is an African music award that focus on the African continent and is spearheaded by a group of professionals and music stakeholders known as the International Committee, about 44 countries vied to be the host of the iconic continental award. AFRIMA is one of the most recognised and respected award group in Africa.

In 2016 T Small was nominated with his hit single
"Guewel", under Best African Reggae-Ragga, while Jizzle was nominated with his single "Man of the year" feat Artenola, under best African hip-hop song.
A2 was the recent to be nominated and it was last year 2021.
