Hello Everyone!
In this video I will show you my favorite tools for this part of violinmaking and what I like to do to have beautifully round edges and corners.
I still feel this is the part of violinmaking I am trying to improve more every day. There can be so many variations on the roundness of the edges and how they meet the purfling and the sguscia.
One of my favorite tool is the glass scraper. A technique that I have learned from my father , that has learned from his father, that has learned from a shoe maker in his little town.
All you need is to find a local frame shop, ask for some broken glass and check my free Video Course: https://www.sofiavettori.com/glass-scraper/
Have fun and remember to wear a pair of gloves if you are trying for the first time! I know it looks easy, but you can cut yourself at the beginning. Before you understand what type of movement you have to exactly do. At that point you will never hurt yourself!
Lots of love
Sofia
